Abstract:
Global warming is a process of increasing the average temperature in the atmosphere, at sea, and on land, so that it will result in very extreme climate changes on earth. One of the exhaust gases known by various levels of society is carbon dioxide gas or commonly abbreviated as CO2. This gas is formed due to various human activities and because it occurs naturally, including burning garbage to forest fires. The candlenut shell is a waste from the candlenut fruit which has become a new problem in the community, especially the residents of the candlenut-producing villages. The purpose of this community service is to provide education about the importance of preserving forests and practices on how to use candlenut shell waste as fuel to replace firewood for household purposes. The results of Community Service show that the farmer groups in Luba Village, Lembur District, Alor-NTT Regency are very enthusiastic and willing to change their life patterns so far after gaining knowledge about the benefits of forests as the lungs of the earth, as well as the use of candlenut shell waste in making briquettes as an alternative fuel.
Description:
This training is very beneficial for rural communities because by utilizing waste candlenut shells, the activity of cutting trees to make firewood will be reduced so that environmental sustainability will be maintained.
Thank you to all those who have supported this activity, especially the Tribuana Alor Foundation, Tribuana Kalabahi University, Luba Village Officials.
